Taking a Closer Look at...Elk Grove

Next in the series of examining local real estate markets is Elk Grove. Having lived in Elk Grove for most of my life, I can say it has changed quite a bit from when I first moved there. We left Elk Grove in May of 2006, and it's very unlikely we'll ever return. Like a lot of residents there, the direction the city is headed just doesn't make much sense. Anyway, enjoy the data!

Hey Gwynster,
They lowered the price of the Davis condo on Garden Ct. to $711,000....

Har!!!!
I think it's also listed on CL as a rental.

Couldn't happen to nicer people.
Everyone is drinking the Koolaid. Apparently Davis is immune from anything bad ever happening.

I got into a ummm discussion with a listing agent that told me there were no bank-owned properties in Davis. Silly woman had no clue who she was talking to. When I told her I subscribe to Realty trac like everyone else, she quickly changed her toon to "Davis won't be affected like Sacramento and Woodland".

I should have kept her card so I could email her a link to my blog >; )

I am interested in the comment you made in the introduction. "I can say it has changed quite a bit from when I first moved there. We left Elk Grove in May of 2006, and it's very unlikely we'll ever return. Like a lot of residents there, the direction the city is headed just doesn't make much sense." I would be interested in knowing exactly what you mean. I am looking to move to the area and I know nothing about Elk Grove. Also, is there a way to find out how much a particular home last sold for? I checked the Sacramento County Treasurer and they don't have that information.
Thanks
