More Dead Retail

Stopped by the West Sacramento Wal-Mart and Home Depot over by the Ikea on Reed Ave. yesterday afternoon. Dead as a doornail. If it weren't for the music playing loudly over the PA system, you could hear a pin drop:

I would say the staff outnumbered the customers 2:1 easy. I made passing comments to the checkout clerks at both stores; they both said it was typical for the middle of the month. Neither one seemed particularly concerned...

Has anyone but me noticed how loud the music has gotten in stores these days? It seems like the cheaper the store, the louder the music. But maybe it's just not as busy so the ambient noise isn't there to mask the loudness.

That's exactly it. I noticed this too all over.

Ok. Ok. I will go turn the radio down but if all "you people" would go buy some "stuff" it would be really really nice.

imagine being in these stores with no one there. creepy. The reality of the scale of these rediculous stores. I can't wait to see these places abandoned.
I want to see the day we order our stuff online and it is all picked with robots, bagged and delivered right to your car. We will look back at these cinderblock energy suckers with embarassment.
